Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik, known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic," is a historic coastal city in southern Croatia. Founded in the 7th century, it flourished as a major maritime power. The city is famous for its well-preserved medieval walls, which were built between the 11th and 17th centuries and offer stunning views of the Adriatic Sea.

A UNESCO World Heritage site, Dubrovnik's old town showcases Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture, with highlights such as the 16th-century Sponza Palace and the Rector's Palace. The city's main street, Stradun, is a bustling promenade lined with historic buildings, shops, and cafes.
Dubrovnik's beauty and historical ambiance made it a key filming location for the popular TV series "Game of Thrones," where it served as the backdrop for the fictional city of King's Landing. This connection has drawn many fans to explore its iconic sites.

Additionally, the city hosts the annual Dubrovnik Summer Festival, featuring open-air performances of music, theater, and dance. Dubrovnik's clear waters and nearby islands, like Lokrum, provide excellent opportunities for day trips and outdoor adventures.

Split

Split, the second-largest city in Croatia, is a vibrant coastal destination with a rich history that dates back to Roman times. Founded as the site of the Palace of Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century, Split has grown into a bustling urban center while preserving its historical roots.

The city's most famous landmark, Diocletian's Palace, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the best-preserved Roman monuments in the world. This expansive complex, which forms about half of Split's old town, features ancient buildings, narrow alleys, and stunning courtyards. Key attractions within the palace include the Peristyle, the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, and the Temple of Jupiter.
Split's historic center blends Roman, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture, creating a unique and picturesque setting. The Riva, Split's waterfront promenade, is a lively area lined with cafes, restaurants, and shops, offering beautiful views of the Adriatic Sea.
The city is also known for its cultural events, such as the Split Summer Festival, which hosts open-air theater, music, and dance performances. Additionally, Split's vibrant nightlife and dining scene make it a popular destination for tourists.
Split's scenic location makes it a gateway to the Dalmatian islands, with regular ferry services to popular spots like Hvar, Brač, and Šolta. The nearby Marjan Hill, covered in Mediterranean pine forest, offers hiking and cycling trails with panoramic views of the city and sea.
