On the first morning we arrive to La Spezia. Here we take the train to the 5 villages. We will get a train ticket for around 16 € for each person for the whole day. With this ticket we can go to all the 5 villages which is like a dream. Each town is around 10 minutes away from each other.

The Cinque Terre is a string of centuries-old seaside villages on the rugged Italian Riviera coastline. In each of the 5 towns, colorful houses and ancient vineyards cling to steep terraces, fishing boats bob in harbors and trattorias turn out seafood specialties along with the Liguria region’s famous sauce, pesto. It looks like the heaven on the earth.

Manarola, which is the favourite of most visitors,  is the oldest and the second smallest of the towns in the Cinque Terre, with the cornerstone of the church, San Lorenzo, dating from 1338. On the west end, there is a little harbor and on the east side lies the San Lorenzo church and a square where the townsmen meet for various activities. And as most of Cinque Terre, there are vineyards everywhere.

In the afternoon we will head to Rome and check in to our hostel. At he hostel we have rooms with 4 beds each but you can upgrade to a double room. Please check below for extra costs.

Saturday, 15.04.2017 - Rome & Vatican

We will wake up early in the morning and after the breakfast we will visit the smallest country of the world Vatican! Then we will head to Rome and get off our coach at the Colosseum. Here we will start a sightseeing tour. Rome is so beautiful! Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Spanish stairs, the Colosseum...

The Colosseum is more impressive than any football stadium you've ever seen, AND it's 2000 years old. Vatican City is the world's smallest independent international state, a walled-off enclave within Rome. It's home to 842 people, the Sistine Chapel, and St Peter's Basilica. The government type of the Vatican City is monarchical-sacerdotal. It is headed by the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, who is elected for life by the cardinals. St. Peter’s Basilica is the largest Catholic church in the world. In case anyone wishes to refute this fact, the Church has actually placed the measurements of the largest churches in the world in the marble of the Nave to prove that all other basilicas are able to fit within the Basilica.

In the evening our bus will pick us up and bring us back to our hostel.

Sunday, 16.04.2017 - Naples & Pompeii

On this day you can decide what you would like to do. You can either go to Rome again or join the optional excursion to Naples & ancient city Pompeii! It's also one of the most amzing cities in Italy. Here we will have the chance to see the the Basilica of St Francesco di Paola and the Royal Palace of Naples, one of the four residences used by the Bourbon Kings. Then we will walk to the Teatro di San Carlo, the oldest opera house in Europe. From there, we will jump to  the Galleria Umberto I, an impressively-sized shopping gallery dating back to the 19th century. Then we will visit Pompeii, which  has been a tourist destination for over 250 years. Today it has UNESCO World Heritage Site status and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Italy, with approximately 2.5 million visitors every year. In the evening we will head back to our hostel.
